Dearest N353,

Proverbs 3:5-6 (MSG)
Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go.

It is easy to end a year thinking of all the good and bad things that have happened in the past one year, and in fact that's exactly what we usually do at the end of every year. I have been praying through for the last few days, for a word to end this year well. Proverbs 3:5-6 is the word that God has placed in my heart.

At the end of every year, we give thanksgiving speech and gifts to each other to appreciate the friendship and the love. However, besides all those gifts and hugs and hand-shakings, I believe what we truly need to end a year well and to start the New Year right is by listening from God.

You may ask, “How? How exactly should I get to relate to this God whom everyone is talking about?” Or as a mature believer, you may be wondering, “How? How do I get to know God more intimately and know His heart?”

The answer does not come from man, but from God, and God alone.

Proverbs 3:5-6 may make a lot of sense to you, and you may be thinking, well, I know this verse and it’s not too difficult to comprehend either. However, I would like to really encourage you to start this year by setting a plan to read the Bible through at least once (: Don’t take this lightly, for the Word of God is the foundation of all our belief. “Listen to God’s voice” does not mean you’ll literally hear a voice from heaven( that only happen once in a blue moon), it means we need to follow the Word of God – the Bible, and let the Word of God be a part of us, so that we can be reminded of the Word of God whenever we come across the situation where difficult decision needs to be made (such as whether we should gamble, whether we should drink, whether we should stay overnight at friend’s places etc.)

If there’s one verse I can live out this year, this is the verse. Always ask yourself at the end of each day: have I listened to God’s voice in EVERYTHING I do? Have I followed God’s Word EVERYWHERE you go?

Most importantly: have you trusted God with all your heart? Or are you trying to figure things out only by your human strength?

I’m setting this one week aside to really pray for the many things that are going to happen in this year, and I really believe for greater breakthroughs and growth that this cell group will experience. I’m really grateful for each and every single one of you, for N353 would not have been how it is like today without you (:
